  Where do I begin with this establishment. Let’s start with the positives. Are you ready? They are polite. Whew, that was easy. Now, let’s begin- My daughter went to Mcdonough pediatrics from the time she was about 2 weeks old until she was 2 years old. She was first diagnosed with pneumonia at 6 months after we were repeatedly told that she had bronchiolitis by the nurse practitioners. Yes, the nurse practitioners because in the two years that we attended Mcdonough pediatrics we only met Dr. Sankaran once. We insisted on an X-ray and sure enough she had pneumonia. About 3 or 4 months later we were once again afraid that our daughter had more than a common cold but trusted the nurse practitioners because we were new parents and thought we may have been overly cautious. Her cough worsened we took her back to this place and requested and X Ray. The nurse practitioner proceeded to tell us that we were putting our daughter at risk for leukemia by requesting an X Ray. I was shocked I had no idea that two X Rays in a child could cause leukemia. So, I requested a second opinion in an ER pediatrician and friend. He let us know that was ridiculous and that her exposure would have to be way higher to even come close to dangerous levels of radiation. He requested the X Ray and once again our daughter had pneumonia. We should have left then but we didn’t and for that I blame myself. Next, we requested testing for lupus for our daughter as multiple members of our family have lupus and she was displaying signs of he autoimmune disease. They requested the wrong blood work and she was never tested. There were many other small things that happened but the final straw for us was when our two year old daughter went into Mcdonough pediatrics with what looked like chicken pox and was misdiagnosed with SCABIES yes SCABIES!!! Turns out it was HFMD (Hand foot and mouth disease). When we took her to the ER for a second opinion the doctor looked at her for five seconds and said this isn’t scabies, he then opened her mouth and saw a blister and said “yup, this is HFMD.” He then confirmed by asking follow up questions like “has she had a fever in the last 48 hours? Has she had trouble sleeping?” The answer was yes and we left. Finally, when we went to request a copy of her immunization records from this place they sent an inaccurate copy that stated that received immunizations in days that I know for a fact she was not in the their office. How do I know this?? Because one of those days was her first birthday and I have photos with time stamps of everything we did that day from 9 am until we got home at 7pm. This. Place. Is. The. Worst. Don’t walk away. Run.
